few of us ever do Get used to Using as we're being Used by

Experience can't teach
What some are born knowing:
How comely it is to be,
Dreamily, what you're
Likely taken for—

But pray it teaches you
Never to keep score.

Few of us ever do
Get used to
Using as we're being
Used by  (I don't)
Or used to seeing
That, apple or knuckle,
My is not I—
And only a saint won't
Now and then ignore why
Yours is not you.

Sam Johnson kicked
The stone of a stone,
Scraped his shoe
And his ankle bone,
And did not care
For he alone then
Had proved anew
Fair and square
That he alone to
Him alone was
Usable, true,
And there.
