April 12: gloze
(what the Hell?)
It can be a delicate balance at the start of a relationship to determine when and how to bring up what's happened in the past; too soon and it seems obsessive, and not soon enough and it appears a forced glozing-over of something truly important.

A few more dresses, for your perusal and critique. The first is from Ralph Lauren via Amazon, and is not a serious contender per se but rather an illustration of another direction for the style that I like (though not a terribly well-done example of it--the photo makes it appear rather bulky and heavy. All I'm trying to say with it is that sleeves are not verboten.
The rest are from Modcloth. Let me know what you think.
Amazon's Ralph Lauren long-sleeved version.
Well beyond my size and not weighted for the season,
but it is another take on the look that I'm seeking.

Modcloth.com Sheath All That dress. Are the straps too narrow? I LOVE this.

Modcloth.com Sleek It Out dress. The top of the sleeves--
where the sleeve meets the bodice--is oddly bumpy,
and the neckline is very wide. But is it a good balance of stuffy and fun?

Modcloth.com Un-Twill We Meet Again dress.
It's gray! I love that. Paired with some fun red shoes and my ruby necklace,
I think this would be kind of understated awesome.

Modcloth.com Wonders Never Seas dress.
The pattern is *gag*, but I like the cut and the shape of the bodice.

Modcloth.com Yours Always dress. Terrrrrrrible color for me
(I would look more than half-dead in it) but a terrific cut.
I love the halter top that wouldn't bind at the neck.

  1. Personally, I not crazy about the Ralph Lauren, or the last two... though the cuts are nice as you said.

The Un-Twill would likely be a bit heavy for the season also, though the grey with the accouterments you describe would be nice.

The Sleek is an excellent choice I think but, the Sheath is my clear favorite of this grouping, and would be perfect for an afternoon wedding. btw. I think the straps are fine as well ;)

  2. The Ralph Lauren dress looks like someone threw it at the mannequin and then stood on a box to take a picture. Horrid presentation, so I can't even tell if it's a good dress or not.

I like both the Sleek (ROFL) and Untwill dress, though I can barely tell them apart aside from the seaming and color.

Sheath is AWESOME but there's that whole color issue again, as will most of these. Ahem. Can you not sort by color and eliminate blue, black and white? ;-)

Yours Always--I do not like the top of that bodice; it doesn't ever do anyone any favors. Wonders: I love it. But it's VERY much NOT you from the waist down; I can't even picture you in something with that sort of pattern on it!
