    Have I ever mentioned my shotglass collection? I've been keeping the little buggers for about 15 years. I have them from nearly every state, plus several exotic foreign locales (Australia, Belgium, Canada, Cayman Islands, Cuba, Dominican Republic, England, France, Germany, Jamaica, [South] Korea, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico, Spain, Taiwan, U.S. Virgin Islands, and British Virgin Islands).
    Needless to say, I have not visited all of these places personally. The great majority of my collection has come from friends who have been lucky enough to do so, and generous enough to go to the trouble of finding and bringing a new treasure back for me. I really cannot explain the delight that I have in seeing those tiny little gift shop bags, or small bundles of "foreign" newspaper in telltale shapes. I have a general idea of what's inside, but it is always a treat to know exactly what has been chosen for me.
    I like tacky, touristy shotglasses. The ones that, when you hold them in your hand and feel the raised paint (or the amazing stuff that they glue to the sides!), you feel like you're there again, whether "there" is in Neuschwanstein or South Padre, Potsdam or Cedar Falls.
    I have a problem, though: my collection is incomplete. It was close to "done" when the ex and I divided it a couple of years ago; we had only a couple of states left to have all 50. (I have no such expectations, or even hopes, about the rest of the world.) Because we each kept the ones that had come from our particular family or loved ones, though, my individual collection now has some specific gaps. I'm all square for the midwestern US, and decent chunks of the South and East are represented. But I need some help with the rest. Here is the list of the states that I need, to complete my collection:

• Delaware
• Montana
• New Hampshire
• North Dakota
• South Dakota
• Vermont
• Virginia

[Or any other country not listed in the first paragraph, above.]
    If anyone who is reading this is in one of these places, or will be, or knows someone who is, and would be willing to contribute something to complete my collection, I would be most grateful. Reasonable expenses will be covered—by which I mean I will reimburse the cost of the shotglass and shipping, not travel to and from the state or anything like that, because of course in that case I would just go on my own. (It suddenly occurs to me that I've been to Virginia twice but never got a shotglass. Strange.)
