what a difference a year can make

A year ago, I took a trip to Oklahoma, to see the lovely Heidi and to clear my head. It was an incredible time for me, well beyond my ordinary definitions of "important" or "meaningful." My circumstances have changed since then (thank God), but I need to go back every now and then, to remember how it was--in part so that I can realize, anew, how glad I am to have what I have, now.
Right after I returned, I posted a few of the hundreds of photographs that I took during my time in Norman, Oklahoma City, and Shawnee. It was emotionally...complicated, though, and so I eventually determined that my lack of drive was coming from some sense of self-preservation; I needed to keep it to myself, at least for a while. Now, though, I am finding that I wish to share them.
These were taken on Day 2 of the trip, in Shawnee. The first two are Heidi's sister S' cat, Phoenix. The second two are Heidi's cat, Rascal. Rascal and I had a special bond, 'cause she's cool.
