The tree is assembled. It is not yet fully "fluffed." Nor is it remotely straight. I think I may need to double-check the joints, to make certain that they are secure.
And yet: it's up. That counts for something.
[title quotation by Eric Sevareid]
Congratulations! You're ahead of me.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that weird? I was thinking I would write:"Congratulations!" We must be sisters. Congratulations on the tree. Our pine tree lives outside in a pot, and we will drag it it inside, but only for a few days, for fear of damaging it. It is taller than last year, and probably cannot live on the terrace forever. In Italy we also have to do a manger scene, with little ceramic figures. I'll get to it, which means clearing away the rubble of our disorderly life, in the living room.
ReplyDeleteWhat I WANTED to say was: congratulations on your tree!
Thank you, both of you. This exchange is the reason that I love the blog-world. Two people, neither of whom I've ever met face-to-face, both brought smiles to my face and made me sniffle a little bit. I guess that's the influence of this time of year, too.
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas to you.
