August 6: chevron

My friend's superhero costume features a small chevron at the center of the chest. I could tell you what it signifies, but then she'd have to kill you. Seems unfortunate, doesn't it?

• When you buy clothes, do you always try them on first?
  I do not. For instance, I just bought a shirt online, and am THRILLED with the fit and style and color and everything about it. Love it!
• When was the last time you played a video game?
  meh. I play Bubbleshooter now and then, but not all that often. Oh, and the Never-Ending Book Quiz on GoodReads. I think I played this weekend.
• Have you ever just watched flames from a fire & just thought about things?
  definitely; that's one of the best things about fire!
• Are there any musical albums coming out soon that you can't wait for?
  The Dave Matthews Band has an album coming out soon (Away from the World) that I will want to hear. I'm sure there are some others but my brain is empty at the moment.
• Have you talked to your significant other today?
  Ha! Funny thought.
• Have you ever sat down and eaten an entire cake by yourself?
  no, but I, along with two friends, once ate the great majority of a cake that had "WE ARE PIGS" drawn on the top in red icing.
• Do you have perfect vision?
  while using corrective lenses, I do
• Is there something you want to buy right now?
  nah—what I want, money cannot buy
• Do you know anyone who can speak Gaelic?
  no, but I have a couple of CDs featuring people singing in that language. It's awfully lovely.
• When it comes to eye color, do you have a preference?
  I'm drawn to people with big blue eyes, but often just as friends. (Hi, Mumbler!) My heart's been broken by a couple of brown-eyed fellas.
• What was the most unique pet you've owned?
  I'm pretty white-bread in the pet department: a few memorable cats, and one dog when I was wee
• Is your hair currently dyed?
  it is, though I could use a change. This blond thing can be wearying.
• Has something annoyed you recently?
  of course! Just thinking about the asinine way I've been directed to spend tomorrow makes my brain spin.
• Do you like Doritos?
  love 'em! Had a bag at the "nice" rest area on the way up to big bro's wedding, as a matter of fact.
• Have you used bugspray recently?
  I have not. What I've got beneath the bathroom sink is probably due to be replaced, in fact. Hmm.
• Do you enjoy swimming in the ocean?
  yep, though my forays are never extensive. I'm not very adventurous that way, just a toe-dipper.
• Have you ever bitten through your lip by accident?
  uh, yeah--since I'm over the age of 3. Hasn't everyone?
• Has anything surprised you today?
  my lack of sophistication and social veneer came rattling down around my head today. I know I'm not the smoothest cat in the pound, but I sometimes fool myself into thinking I've got game.
  I've got no game.
