- If you could pick any rock star to replace the Osbournes in their reality show, whom would you pick? I find it hard to believe that anyone ever cared about them, or about reality TV.
- What are your feelings about Mel Gibson's movie The Passion of the Christ? it was not of particular interest to me, but I also was not offended by it. I think that there is a basic lack of understanding of what role religion should and does play in our lives, and a lot of people hide behind the Constitutional freedom of and from religion to deal with (or not deal with, as the case may be) their own feelings on the subject. I'm grateful that there is no official state religion, and I'm glad that no one can prevent me from practicing what I sincerely believe--but a movie, for entertainment purposes, has nothing to do with either one. If you don't want to see it, don't pay to look.
- What did you think about the last episode of Sex in the City? I'd not seen any of the rest of it, so I have no idea about the last episode in particular.
- What is your favorite movie with Adam Sandler in it? ugh. I haven't actually seen any of them, though I've been told (recently) to watch 50 First Dates, Spanglish, and Punch Drunk Love.
- What is your biggest problem? love or money, it depends on the day. Sometimes both at once.
- Have you ever been arrested? not yet...
- Can musicians be held responsible for influencing people to behave badly? not through their music, no. That idea's been discredited in all the scientific literature. (Same with video games and movies.)
- Do you believe that there are subliminal messages embedded in some TV shows, movies & music? well, yes? But not the kind that this question seems to mean. I think it's more like the Coke commercial that shows an artificially blinding sun, so that the bottle of soda seems exponentially more refreshing. Or the big --> arrow in the middle of the FedEx logo, the one that implies speed. I "believe in" semiotics.
- Is there anything that you believe should be banned for any reason? sure. Just today I had the thought that the practice of "overbooking" by airlines ought to be outlawed.
- How often do you eat too much? Over the last week, I've had the sense that nearly anytime I've eaten it's been too much, and yet simultaneously not enough. Under regular circumstances, it maybe happens once each month or two.
- Have you ever descended into pure madness? I don't think so? I doubt that's something one can do and then sort of climb back out again like it's nothing.
- Would you want to? no, thank you
- Do green M&M's make you feel sexy? no--but I generally eat them last, just in case
- If you died tomorrow, what mark would you have left on the world? good question
- What movie would you NEVER want to see? I think I've had about enough of the superhero thing
- What annoys you the most about yourself? I'm a sucker for a good argument
- How do you feel about capitalism? it generally works
- How do you feel about socialism? some of it could work
- How do you feel about communism? it mostly doesn't work
- Has anyone ever tried to injure you? yes, though it's been a while. He doesn't even pop up on my FB "people you should know" list anymore.

- How do you know when it's time to break up with someone? if you have to ask, you shouldn't be involved with people
- What is your opinion of the Janet Jackson/Justin Timberlake Superbowl exposure incident? it appears, upon further review, to have been intentional
- What's the most annoying sound? idiots drumming their fingernails
- Who was your childhood hero? Beverly Cleary
- With nearly 100 channels why is NOTHING ever on? because we always want what we can't have
- Would you adopt a stray kitty wandering through your neighborhood? under the right circumstances, yes. If I knew it was stray and not someone's outdoor kitty, and if I got it checked over first, and of course if I was in the market for a pet in the first place.
- Describe what you look like: shortish, pale, unassuming

- What bad habit do you have that affects other people as much as it affects you? I can be very sure of myself
- How did you party New Years Eve 1999? I'm not sure, but probably super lame
- Does secondhand smoke bother you? it depends. From most people, most of the time, it's pretty gross. But under just the right conditions, it takes me back to a very specific time with a certain person, when smoke was the least of my worries. And then it soothes me.

- Is it better for people to change and evolve their ideas or always be consistent? evolution is necessary to survival
- Warped tour, Lollapalooza or Area concert? eh. I have this feeling I'll be seeing more concerts in the future, at least short-term, but my feelings about them haven't really changed much either way.
- What are you missing in your life? at the moment? I could use a hug, some serious pain relief, and about $3500.
- Do you ever know when someone is thinking about you? I do. And it's making me smile.
- What could you make a sculpture out of that's in the room with you right now? yeah, but it would be utilitarian and bizarre!
- Do you believe in the lost city of Atlantis? "believe in" is putting it a little strongly
- Have you ever read The Little Prince? no, but I'm familiar with the outlines of the story
