you're in my heart You're in my skull. You're in my blood You're in my bones

  1. What brands do you like? Coke, Børn, and Aveda
  2. What do you think of the 'don't ask, don't tell' policy of gays in the military? it is, at least officially, no longer in place
  3. Why do you think that so many people have such a problem with gays? a lot of people think binary. Yes/No, black/white, boy/girl. Anything outside those categories seems weird and scary.
  4. It seems like it is more accepted for a woman to be bi or gay than for a man. Why do you think that is? women don't matter
  5. When a kid kisses another kid on the playground, is it sexual harassment? I'm sure I'm not the one to ask
  6. Pick the two most important things out of these: writing deep thoughts, expressing yourself clearly, being honest, finding new novel ways to waste time, being organized, practicing what you want to do, trying to be famous: writing deep thoughts and expressing myself clearly
  7. You were only waiting for this moment to... find out something I really didn't want to know
  8. Just what exactly determines whether or not one is 'mental'? everyone has a 'mental' component. That word, though, may not appropriately be used in the way that this question implied.
  9. Is it true that people with depression cannot function in society? obviously not
  10. Fill in the word: half of what i say is... silent
  11. Some people believe the Holocaust was a hoax. What do you think of this? there are people all over who have convinced themselves that facts are not real. I don't understand it--it takes an enormous amount of energy to deny the truth--but I don't really see a way around it, either.
  12. Does everyone in the world care about how they look except you? pretty much everyone cares about how they look, but they express it in different ways. Thank God.
  13. Do you love Italian names like Lorenzo, Gaetano, and Grazziano? they're fine--not that I've been in the market for a name
  14. Everyone does horrible things. Do you think that people are more accepting of the bad things they do themselves or the bad things others do? to some degree, it's a lot easier to forgive others than ourselves. It's kind of like receiving compliments--some people just can't do it.
  15. Which are you more accepting of? I try not to beat anybody up, myself or anyone else. But I suppose I'm more accepting of the bad stuff that I do.
  16. Is it true that no one wants to date grumpy people? hey, maybe that's why I'm single...
  17. Bush and his henchmen have now come up with a list of people for the CIA to assassinate. What do you think of this? I'd be willing to bet that the CIA (and the president) have always had a blacklist. Same old thing, different administration.
  18. Why is it that in many states sodomy and oral sex are still illegal, even if they are consensual? because laws about personal behavior came about when legislating morality was considered not only appropriate but necessary for the preservation of the culture
  19. Do you feel like you are missing out because you can only know a certain number of people in this world and you can't know everyone? uh, no. Quite the opposite, in fact. My "friend" list is way too big, my phone has about 250 numbers in it that I would never in a billion years actually use, and I'm cutting my Christmas card list down from nearly a hundred this year to only the people I actually care about, next year. Hint: if I haven't heard from you since I sent the last card, you obviously don't want to be friends.
  20. What do you imagine being a soldier in a war is actually like? I spent 7 years studying war (in history). I've never been there, but I feel pretty confident that I know, as well as a civilian can, what it's like to be a soldier in war.

  25. What is the difference between sympathy and empathy? sympathy is feeling sorry for you. Empathy is feeling...what you're feeling.
  26. Can you think of any person or group you cannot empathize with? I have a friend who is chock full of judgment about some stuff going on in my life now. I get it--really, I get it--but I don't need it, either. So when the pendulum swings and it's time to talk about what's going on in that person's life, and what's going badly that they could have done differently, it's hard to pull myself out of myself, you know? I feel wretchedly justified in thinking that the judgment and sniffs in my direction may be karma's bitchy side, making herself known.
  27. Like creme savers? they're all right, but I don't go nuts for them

  30. Have you personally worked for peace? not in so many words
  31. Do you suppress parts of yourself because you are afraid of judgment? not afraid of it, but--as laid out in #26, above--exhausted by it. Why talk when I know that I what I have to say is going to get "the look" in return? It's not worth it.

  45. What's good? affection, faith, and loyalty

  56. What things (not people) would you miss most if you were locking the Big Brother house for weeks on end? my sanity, most of all

  60. Who has seen the wind? Kvothe
  61. What's the point of MLA format? Why can't students just freely write their gathered info and opinions the way they feel is best for them? why can't I just do whatever I want, whenever I want, however I want? Why do there have to be RULES? Why can't I drive down the middle of the road, walk through the grocery store eating what I like from the shelves, pluck the clothes that might look good on me from someone else's closet, go to work if I feel like it that day....

  71. Whose lives do you value more, those of your country or all of humanity? humanity
  72. If the Jehovah's Witnesses dropped by your house, what would you do? probably wouldn't answer the door. If that weren't an option, I'd credibly feign illness. It's been known to happen. Any extended conversation between me and that group of people is not likely to end productively.
  73. Someone you work with or go to school with is giving you a surprise gift. Would you like it better if it were a talking Teddy bear or a mini tarot deck? Tarot, please
  74. Where does the sky begin? Just above the ground? technically I think it's a distance up from there

Do you do all your Christmas shopping in the grocery and drug store? probably not. If there's some reason why I waited that long, then I can probably wait a little longer and get something that's worth having.
  90. If superman is so powerful, how does he get with Louis Lois Lane? Wouldn't he kill her? you mean, would he fuck her to death? I don't think it works that way.
  91. What do you think of...

can't separate "Hanoi Jane" from the ubiquitous aerobics videos from Ted Turner's arm candy. Plus Barbarella. Not a fan of the woman.

I've also had dreams about very slowly and deliberately breaking the nose of a guy I used to date. Feeling the bones crunching beneath my fist. Watching the blood spurt. Hearing him cry out.
    Dreams are weird.

[From the 5000-question meme; this is the thirty-eighth part (questions 3601-3700). The title quotation is from "Kiss You to Death" by Alkaline Trio.]
