go on a fancy date every once a month or low-cost dates more frequently?
the cost doesn't matter, and the frequency doesn't matter. It's kind of like "romance" or presents: it's about what works for the two people who are doing it. If a scheduled date night is a chore, then it's a terrible idea because it's perverting the purpose. If a fancy date is a joy, then have a fancy date! If low-cost dates are fun, then do that. If non-"date" dates—like painting a bathroom, watching your nephew play hockey, or arguing about sports betting and counting pieces of cardboard—makes you happy, then that's the way you should spend your time.
kill one person on purpose or twenty people accidentally?
one, please
know you were about to die of a specific disease or live the remainder of your life unknowing?
we all live the remainder of our life unknowing. I could be told that I'm about to die and how, but then on the way to doing that, be hit by a meteor (or a bus). Or by a ray of glowing light that cures me. Who knows? There is a lot that we know, but also a lot that we'll never know. So what's the point of wondering about that particular bit?
never shower again or learn the secrets of the universe?
uhm, what??
run for student council or volunteer at a local homeless shelter?
I'm definitely more the political than the volunteer-ish type
[from here; the title quotation is by Alice Hoffman, from Local Girls]
