2. What would be a “perfect” day for you? sleep in, wake slowly, read, write, have lunch, nap, write, read, eat dinner, watch a movie, read, sleep
3. For what in your life do you feel most grateful? the ability to cook
4. What do you value most in a friendship? different things from different friends - that's the beauty of it!
5. What is your most treasured memory? walking arm-in-arm into a movie theater after an argument
6. What does friendship mean to you? see #4, above
7. What, if anything, is too serious to be joked about? Which is better: instant pudding or the cooked kind? cooked, obviously! It leaves that delicious skin on top. Mmmmm
8. What is the greatest accomplishment of your life? completing my masters thesis and getting my MA with a gap of several years (and law school) between coursework & research, and the writing. It would have been easy to say that life got in the way. It would have been good enough to say that I tried. But I pushed through weeks of late nights, frustrating re-writes, reams of paper being sent to Michigan and back, and I feel like I truly earned that degree.
9. What roles do love and affection play in your life? there's nothing more important to me
10. When did you last cry in front of another person? last time college bff and I had an outing. I'm always either crying-crying or crying-laughing around her, so she's (I think) used to it.
11. Which app do you use the most on your phone? messages
12. Do you prefer to watch a movie alone or with other people? alone, except for one or two exceptions
13. Have you ever been in mortal danger? ugh, probably? Best not think about it too much.
14. Do you cook often? every time I eat..?
15. What’s the weirdest thing you’ve eaten? elk and boar are really good. Alligator is all right. Gooseis not to my taste.
16. What don’t you do enough of? naps
17. Do you get stage fright? I do, but not nearly as bad as I used to. Somebody reminded me that it's not as much about the audience as it is about me trying to be perfect. That's not going to happen, so why not just roll with it?
18. How was your first day of school? like, ever?? I was happy as a little clam. I loved school.
19. When you were a kid, what did you look forward to about being an adult? hanging out at soda joints like they did on Happy Days
20. Do you ever risk eating dodgy smelling food that you’re not 100% sure about? one of the milestones of becoming an adult was when I started cutting the mold off cheese since, really, cheese is just mold in a different state anyway
21. What’s the most impressive event you’ve ever attended? the Cubs Convention was very cool. And the US Opens and PGAs, too.
22. Which meal is the most important one? the current one. I am a grazer, not a wait-er, and enjoy food when I have it.
23. Do you often sympathize with the villain? I do appreciate a good antihero
24. Are there any websites that you visit daily? yes
25. Have you ever went on a diet? {{{shudder}}}
I have gone on a diet, yes
26. Do you ever participate in the local cultural stuff your city has to offer? I do, but there is some that I've missed. The Shakespeare festival has not worked into my plans, and I think that would be pretty cool to see. The music festival does not appeal at all - from my perspective it's been just another blocked-off-streets downtown nightmare. I heard that they're doing the annual town festival this year, which is a little surprising but oh yeah if you drink you can't get COVID, right? I think I'll miss it again.
27. Do you care about updating your phone to a new model often? not "often". I have an iPhone 7 and have been thinking about getting a 12 mini. I don't like big/heavy phones and can't afford the most expensive ones so it seemed a fair compromise. It'll still need to wait until other bills are paid.
28. What’s your favorite decade of movies? they all have their fun, but I do gravitate most toward the 1940s and 1990s
29. What hobbies are you interested in trying out? leisure travel and frequent massage
30. Would you rather get 10 million $ today, or in monthly payments spread out across your lifetime? I'll take it now to invest it myself rather than leaving it in the hands of someone else
[from here and adapted; the title quotation is by William Shakespeare, from Hamlet]
