Who do you think of when you think of love? an orange cat
If your life was a novel, what would be the title and how would your story end? if I knew in advance how the story ended, there would be less incentive to keep writing it
What would you not give up for $1,000,000 in cash? my vices, all of which please and comfort me
When do you feel most like yourself? when I'm just waking up after good sleeping. I'm softer and sillier
When you help someone do you ever think, “What’s in it for me?” sometimes. Depends who I'm helping, and why. Some people live by quid pro quo, and there's no dealing with them on any other basis.
What is your greatest challenge? staying close enough to the people I care about, while also protecting my own need to be alone a lot of the time
How do you define success? money to pay the bills and enough left over to have some nice things and do something fun now and then
If someone could tell you the exact day and time you are going to die, would you want them to tell you? definitely not
If I could grant you one wish what would you wish for? money, and a lot of it.
What have you read online recently that inspired you? I've been watching YouTube clips from Adam Savage, formerly of Mythbusters. He takes questions from his followers, mostly regarding the show but sometimes more generally. His responses are so open, friendly and forthright, and he's clearly a thoughtful (i.e. thinky) person. I learn something new each time I watch.
Why do religions that advocate unity divide the human race? because they forget that their ideas don't reign supreme over others'. Anyway, I'm not sure that religions generally advocate unity. I've attended services, weddings and funerals in more than a dozen denominations, and the message that they send - particularly to non-members - is anything but inclusive, open, or friendly.
If you could live one day of your life over again, what day would you choose? one that would have no meaning for anyone else, but it was the world to me. I would try much harder to commit every detail to memory, have more fun and let go and enjoy myself. And be grateful for the best day of my life so far.
[from here; the title quotation is by Marcus Aurelius, from Meditations]
