I am fascinated by the sorts of quizzes designed to help a person know more about who they really are. One of my favorites is the PATH test, a fairly short (15 minutes maybe?) test of career psychology, a little hard thinking needed.
"Compatible dominant behaviors drive 73% of workplace success. [This test] uses psychology and behavioral science to match and rank job applicants with the traits most advantageous to your open roles, narrowing your scope from 300 to 10 applications."
The stuff with which I particularly agree is in italics, and most highly apt are in red bold.
Decision Makers are most successful when they have the space to gather information before making decisions. The ideal work environment is one where the decision-maker has access to a wide range of resources and assets. They are people who succeed when they have plenty of puzzles to solve.
Data-driven: When they see competing interests, they take action to create harmony whenever possible. They have an ability to find unique ways to bring people together and mitigate conflicts, even when they see things differently.
Scientific: Searches for all possible information relevant to making decisions and attaining their goals. They conduct extensive research, analyze the data, and make decisions based on this information and data.
Puzzle solver: Understands the parts that make up a whole. Instead of seeing a business, they see all of the people and processes that make up that business. They are very skilled at breaking things down into smaller parts.
Innovators are most successful when they have the freedom to test the limits of what has been done before. They work well when they have plenty of resources at their disposal to test new solutions and solve problems differently. They are most effective when they have the independence to explore and gather information. They work well autonomously and as part of a team.
Flexible: They are flexible and can adapt to almost any situation. When they encounter a difficult situation, they have the flexibility to find solutions and implement them.
Inventive: Is always in search of ways to do things more effectively. They are not satisfied accepting the status quo if they know better methods are available.
Founders are most successful when they can work as part of a cohesive team. They are most effective when they can serve in a leadership role on their team with the ability to initiate and implement change. Their ideal work environment allows them to be proactive and work at their own pace.
Reformer: Isn't afraid to initiate change when they see room for improvement. While change might lead to some initial difficulties, they are willing to weather the storm if they see a better outcome in the future.
Solutions-driven: Is adept at finding novel solutions. They think outside of the box and instead of getting caught up in a problem, they troubleshoot and find solutions.
