just when I think...

  1. Late for the Sky by Jackson Browne. I could hear this song twenty times a day every day for the rest of my life and never tire of it.
  2. "barometric pressure". What is it? Who decides when it's going to get all fucked up? I've heard that it is responsible for my prodigious headache today, and I'm not happy about it!
  3. Weddings. I'm going to a wedding this weekend! Woohoo!!!
  4. It's barely been a month since I returned from my sojourn to Oklahoma. Life now is not what life was before I went there, and I am very grateful. But I have a terrible, itchy desire to take off again. It started when I talked with a colleague about a fabulous bakery in Bethesda, Maryland (called La Madeleine--if you're ever in the Washington, D.C. area, you owe it to yourself to check this place out). It got worse when I dreamed of a street in Lawrence, Kansas where I used to wander in the rain. I've also been thinking about needing to drive to Ypsi to buy a new "E" window sticker for my car, since mine was lost in The Golf Ball Incident. Put simply, I wanna get outta Dodge.
  5. My right thigh is larger than my left. Not a lot, but enough that when I'm wearing my new jeans--the ones from Old Navy that I got in OKC, the ones that Heidi said make my butt look "not squishy"--I can feel the difference. It's so weird. I don't think I'm of amazonian proportions on either side, but to know that I'm not exactly symmetrical is somewhat disappointing.
  6. More Than Words by Extreme just came on. This song never fails to shred at me.
    "And there it was,
    a big hunk of truth
lying flat out there at her feet,
    because there’s no better way
    to craft a lie
    than starting with something real."
[Alisa Kwitney, in On the Couch]
    Johnnie
    - miss you, miss you, miss you....
  7. Why are women so stupid, and men so fucking dumb?
  8. I'm leaving in a few minutes to pick up dinner from P J's (the pub across from the courthouse). I'm having a BLT (no tomato, no mayo) and G's having...something else, I'm not certain but she's ordering it and I'm picking it up and paying. And we're sharing an order of mozzarella breadsticks. It's been threatening to rain for hours, but the clouds have organized much more seriously over the last few moments. Totally unfair, but not unexpected. Sigh.
  9. Now, as for that wedding--I'm not sure what to wear. Every time I think I've got it figured out, something pops up to change my mind. If only there was time to shop for shoes!
  10. Currently battling for supremacy in my CD player: Toby Keith's White Trash with Money and Staind's Chapter V.
What's new with y'all?
