If you feel like the world has shifted on its axis, you are not alone. The Cat and The Mermaid have [finally] met Nick. (The Beast, Sparky, and The Groom were there, too.) From my perspective, it went really well. He (Nick) was terribly, terribly nervous, and so was rendered nearly mute, but the overall impression that he left (again, from my perspective) was just quiet and affable. And attentive to me, which cannot be a bad thing.
I'm glad that he was there. I'm glad that they were able to meet him, and to see him at least in a tiny portion the way that I do, and that he was able to meet them, too.
It was nowhere near as scary as it could have been. I didn't trip and rip any clothing, didn't drop any food on anyone, didn't say the wrong thing (I don't think?) with the wrong person within earshot. I was a little bit badly-behaved with my camera, but that's pretty permissible in a situation like this one. In all, a good day.
Finally, apropos of nothing, this is my 800th post on this blog.
