* Amazon.com: Yes, I realize that it is not a "product", per se. But I probably spend more time on that website than all other commercial sites combined. This blog is a registered Amazon Associate, meaning that anytime a reader clicks through a link to Amazon.com from here, a [tiny] credit goes into an account for me. If the reader buys the product that is linked, a larger credit is made. If a different item is purchased, a different credit is made. And now, there is even a credit for Gift Certificate purchases. ...in case you're interested in spreading the joy....
* Snyder's Pretzel Dipping Sticks. They taste better than regular pretzels. My officemates and I eat these for our mid-morning break (which isn't exactly a break but more of a graze while we work) nearly every day.
* In my continued efforts to bring you the simplest, most streamlined, and coolest methods of, well, you know, I suggest 'King of Shaves Woman Shaving Spritz'. Maybe it sounds weird, but this stuff is awesome. Shake, spray (razor and target), shave, go. The scent is citrus. The texture is liquid with enough oil to be moisturizing but not enough to make surfaces slippery. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for the everyday, major shaving activities, but more of a small area or touch-up kind of thing. But, then, to each her own.
Or his: there are also King of Shaves options for Men.
* I have used Joico Kerapro shampoo forever. It smells like peach-banana (trust me, it's good) and it cleans my hair the way that I want it to. A couple of weeks ago I went to Ulta to get a jug (I buy it by the liter) and discovered that Joico has changed its product line; they no longer make Kerapro. I am not happy!
I wandered the aisles of the snooty shampoo section for a while, uninspired and a little frightened by my options. I was nearly ready to get some Suave and leave it at that [shudder] [kidding] when I was walking past the tiny display of a line called Graham Webb and saw a product called Ice Cap. A clear shampoo with bubbles, it looked like....
Several years ago, a friend from high school was working in a salon. For my birthday, she sent me a very large number of sample-size and slightly larger bottles of various salon products. Some of it was pretty weird, some was just OK, and some was really very nice. I started to use a couple of the products because of the experience of having tried them that way, so I suppose that it was not without its benefits. One of the products was a shampoo that both smelled and felt, on my head, like 7-Up. Maybe that sounds odd, but it was the most amazing sensation, and I absolutely loved it. The problem was that when I went to find the little bottle or pouch that it had come from, it was mixed with the remains of a bunch of the other little packages that she'd sent, so I couldn't determine which was which. And it was only shampoo, after all, so I sort of forgot about it. ...until now!
Graham Webb Ice Cap Revitalizing Shampoo. 'Enhanced with the refreshing and invigorating icy tone of menthol, this gentle daily shampoo with Thermacore[r] Complex, a U.S. patented ingredient, leaves hair soft and manageable with extraordinary shine and a silky feel.' They ain't kiddin'. It smells fabu, it feels great, and it will make you giggle to think you're washing your hair with 7-Up.
* Moxie and Megan Morrison. Wacky little (really, not so little) stores in downtown DeK that are like a museum if you're killing time, but if you're in desperate need of a gift for someone, you will always find something here. And now that Moxie is selling on the web [linked above], I'm set to shop from my jammies. I particularly like this, and these, and this....
* The Savannah Bee Company 100% Natural Tupelo Honey Beeswax Lip Balm from Bath & Body Works. It has a very faint pleasant aroma that is not overpowering. It has no tint at all. It is extremely smooth and lasts for hours.
I like it much, much more than the equivalent product that I got that was so highly recommended, Burt's Bees Honey Lip Balm. That has a stronger scent of which I am not fond, and it has a texture that makes it seem like there is still actual honeycomb in the product, so when it is applied it comes off in 'chunks' that are whitish and both unattractive and uncomfortable. And it doesn't last.
* Ghirardelli Double Chocolate Brownies. Brownies are easy to make from scratch, but they take some time and a lot of little bowls and things and I don't have a dishwasher. So, in a pinch, I get a box. And this box mix kicks ass. Rich and smooth without being overpowering, these are awesome brownies. Highly recommended.
