status & preferences

• Are you easily amused or hard to humour? Neither, really. I can see the humor in almost anything, but I'm not a giggling idiot.
• Outgoing or no? No. I'm pretty much always the one who waits to respond. Hint: this means that if I've made the first move, it's a big deal.
• Are you at all competitive? Yes, in such spectacularly important areas of life as air hockey, email message length, ping pong, and getting away with slacking at work by bringing donuts on Fridays.
• Would you say you are emotional? Uh, yeah. That's fair.
• Are you social or are you more of a loner? Sure. I mean, both. I definitely like to do stuff with other people, and I definitely like to be by myself. A lot.
• What does your favourite teddy bear look like? Taking a page from She From Whom I Cadged This Quiz, I'll admit that I'm not the actual 'teddy bear' type--and so my answer to this is, he's about 5'11", steadily losing his hair, has beautiful blue eyes and a very sarcastic smile which matches his personality perfectly. And he's my brother.
• What's on your walls? Bats, in a rack, with necklaces. Hats. Sharks. Cows (which are actually on the ceiling). Photographs, and prints. And a boomerang.

  • Six iPod socks (one of which is on my phone)
  • My "third hand" (a portable vise for jewelry-making)
  • A nonfunctional stapler that needs replacing

• Do you have anything Disney in your room, if so, what? No. I do not.
• Anything black? If so, what? Yes--about half of the book jackets, four and one half of the hats on the wall, innumerable CDs, and parts of the most important photos.
• What do you cherish the most in your room house? I have a hard time with the "things" answers. The stuff really does not matter nearly as much as the people do. Still, I cannot deny that I have an apartment full of ...things. What do I prize most highly? Of what I am I most proud? The books. My photographs. The oddities--the collections, the little gifts from my friends that show that they know me, the mix CDs. My bed (best bed in the world). And the laptop.

  No, wait! I have! I saw Jaws: The Revenge a few months ago. I would definitely be the shark in the last Jaws movie. He barks. A shark...barks! It's awesome. All the other sharks must be so jealous. Hee hee.
• What do you think about Mel Gibson? I don't, really. I used to like his movies. Now I think he's a guy who used to make good movies, who now makes movies about which I do not particularly care, who says stuff that gets him in trouble. The end.
• Do you like reality shows such as Newlyweds? Not even remotely.
• Any not so known actors you like? Sure. If I tell you about them, though, that'll dim the special light that they shine only on me. [What a strange question.]
• Do you have any weird habits? Not a one.

• The best author? is a matter of personal interpretation. I would argue that David James Duncan is an excellent author in need of a much better editor, for instance. I'm a big fan of Alisa Kwitney, who should simply write more. Shall I continue?
• Does the lyrics of songs matter to you? Not nearly so much as your pathetic use of "does." I mean, 'yes.'
• What's the color of your panties right now? It’s remained a pretty consistent white throughout the day, thanks.

• Where would you like to live? A deserted island? In a house tucked against a bluff on the river? Anywhere but here? I don't know. That's one of the eternal questions.
• Do you have anything on your hands right now? Blood. No, that's pasta sauce. And a ring.
