reminisc-ang

  • So far who did you talk to the most today?
Huh - probably "The Lickster" [one of my colleagues, who must remain nameless]
  • What is the best name for a butler?
    Jeeves
  • What was your last weird encounter?
Talking to the boring annoying married liar on Friday.
  • What's the weirdest story of one of your scars?
Getting thrown through a window during a drunken card game in college - that's why my left leg is a little more bumpy than it should be.
  • Do you remember the part from Bambi when Bambi learns to say bear?
My knowledge of Bambi is pretty shaky.
  • Were there bears in Bambi?
The Cat says no, so - probably not.
  • What color is your toothbrush?
    Yellow?
  • What is your middle name spelled backwards?
    nope (or epon)
  • Can you eat well with chopsticks?
    Only via the stab-and-gobble method.
  • What odd things creep you out?
All odd things creep me out.
  • Have you ever felt an earthquake?
Yup. For proof, see this post.
  • What do you do with the hot grease when you’re done cooking bacon?
[This question was the reason that I chose to do this quiz.]
I carefully pour it into an empty orange juice can that I keep in the freezer. When the can is full, I throw it away. Now, isn't that better than what you were afraid of?
  • What's the weirdest thing you have ever eaten?
Goose. Didn't like it at all. I didn't think it was "weird" so much as "disgustingly rich" and not to my liking. So...weird. Hmm. Macaroni & Cheese with peas mixed in. *shudder*
  • What color are your socks today?
    No socks. It's summer!
  • What is your favorite word that starts with the letter G?
    "gleek"
  • Who do you blame for your mood today?
No blame. My mood is not disordered today.
  • If Ricky Martin had a trademark what would it be?
Thank God the question wasn't about a patent. Anyway...I guess it would have to be his hideous sense of rhythm, considering how well-known he is for dancing. Turn off the volume sometime and watch him dance! He looks like a wind-up doll.
  • What is something scientists need to invent?
    Truly light-blocking draperies.
  • What is the closest object to your left foot?
    My right foot.
  • Who is your favorite Golden Girl?
    meh
  • Do you have an inside joke that has to do with numbers?
The only thing I can think of is about Evelyn and drink proportions.
  • What is the longest amount of hours you have slept in a row?
    [Very badly-phrased question! Bad. Bad.]
I've slept at least 18 hours at a stretch.
  • How do ugly people make you feel?
    Pretty.
  • What are the posters on your walls?
Uh, I don't have posters on my walls. There are Rothko prints and photographs. And hats.
  • Say two words that rhyme:
    muddle puddle
  • Do you use online terms in real life?
You mean, "el oh el" rather than laughing? Holy fuck no - and if I do, please punch me in the fucking face!
  • What do you think people think of you?
    I don't know. Ask them.
  • Do you think this year will be better than the last?
Maybe. I can't remember all the times I tried to tell myself
To hold onto these moments as they pass...
  • Who is the 1st person on your incoming call list and how do you feel about them?
My sort-of cousin Ronda. I think she's wonderful: one of those terrifically caring, funny, delightful people who you really count yourself lucky to know.
  • Do you know who Salad Fingers is?
    No clue.
  • What is the stupidest thing you have ever done?
Johnnie. Not him, but, just, all that.
  • What is your favorite commercial of the moment?
There's a Subway ad involving people eating too heavily and blowing up, sort of. Makes me laugh every time.
  • What does it take to make you cry?
Not much. I've sniffled (or more) my way through a few novels lately. It's a macro-mood thing.
  • What are you looking forward to?
Walking tomorrow. Dinner Thursday. Getting my car back. The return of The Cat.
  • Have you ever cried because you thought you were ugly?
Yeah, probably nonstop from age 13-16.
  • Who did you kiss today?
    Only in my dreams....
  • What do you like to do when you are alone?
    I'll never tell.
  • Who are your 2 favorite characters on Full House?
    {yuck}
  • What is missing from your life?
    Johnnie
  • Would you be ashamed if you wore hippie clothes?
    uh, no?
  • Grab the closest book, what does the 7th sentence on the 27th page say?
"I was loving this, although hoping for the assistance of a gurney to get me back to my bed when it was all over." (from A Cook's Tour by Anthony Bourdain)
Second try: "Indeed, remaining out of the war did not ease the way into the 1920s." (from my MA thesis)
  • When was the last time you slept with a stuffed animal?
    Junior high school?
  • If it was your last day on earth what shoes would you wear?
I really cannot imagine caring, but just for the sake of argument...black silk wrap dress with 3" heels, seamed hose, elbow-length gloves, and a fringed velvet scarf, carrying a black silk bag.
  • Do you own a Super Nintendo?
    No
  • What do you think of Law and Order?
I like the show. I think Jeremy Sisto is crazy-hot, and his current partner (Anthony Anderson) is excellent in his role as well. I'm dying to hear Linus Roache's real British accent, but I don't think it's going to happen on L&I. I love how they've implied a strong love of baseball in that character, since he's as English as Earl Grey.
The other versions of the show don't do as much for me, though I do very much like Vincent D'Onofrio (from
L&I Criminal Intent). SVU is just too "Oprah book" for me, by which I mean unremittingly dark and depressing. If I wanted to feel like that all the time, I'd jab myself with a fork, not watch television.
  • Can you name all 7 dwarfs?
Doc, Dopey, Sneezy, Grumpy, Sleepy, Happy, and...I forgot Bashful.
  • Have you ever pretended to be Jewish?
    uh, no. Why...?
  • What was the last thing you thought you lost, but ended up finding it?
    Probably something at work.
  • What were you doing at midnight last night?
Sleeping, fitfully and in an awkward position.
  • If you had a ball of clay what would you mold it into?
A lump. I'm very bad with clay. I should post a photo of my duck mug sometime, as proof.
  • What does your Milkshake bring to the yard?
    Catcalls.
  • Do you have any famous relatives?
God, I hope not. It wouldn't be for anything good.
[from The Cat, who called it "yabayaba" and found it here]
