T. Ariano is ignorant. Do you know who she is? I didn't think so. She is, apparently, a television "reviewer" - nahhh, she's just a blogger (from "The Set") - and she was BLOWN AWAY by the idea that the television personality with the highest current Q rating is Paulie Perrette of NCIS. Why was she surprised by that? Because she, T. Ariano, has never watched the show.
Oh, now I understand! Television is only worth watching if someone - in this case, a reviewer - no, a blogger, for God's sake - tells us to! And them only because she liked it, and not because it had any artistic, entertainment, educational, or other value. If only someone would have informed me before! It would have saved me so much time, in actually thinking for myself! The fact that her television is "basically on all the time" (that's a pretty shitty grasp of the English language, by the way, there, T.) does not surprise me in the least. She would be better served spending less time spouting opinion (also shitty, since it is clearly not in line with the popularity of the show, the character, or the actress who plays the character!) and more time doing some research into why the show, character, and actress are so popular. Then she might not look petty and ignorant when next she blathers.
That's just my opinion.

I'm not going to the link, but I am curious as to who this chick thinks should be voted most popular. Susan Lucci? Snooki? Ann Coulter?
ReplyDeleteWV: slogy Seems totally apt. Basically anyway.
I found it on the main Yahoo page, for what that's worth. Judging by the photos that accompanied her "article", I presume she'd have preferred some stars from Grey's Anatomy or that Housewives show - the non-reality one.
ReplyDeleteWait, Wisteria Lane isn't a real street?

It is interesting that four of the top five occupants of this Q rating list are on NCIS... and more than a bit telling is the only one she has praise for is the only one NOT on NCIS ;)
ReplyDeleteYeah, I thought that was striking! It's not that I think everybody should love the same thing - far from it. What got me was that the author seemed to be mistaking quality (or critical acclaim) for popularity, and that she didn't understand that her own personal preference doesn't hold sway with the viewing public at large. It must be a strain to carry that ego everywhere she goes.
ReplyDeleteit is contempt on their part... you see it a lot in "The Arts". I think it is one of the reasons a lot of the Award Shows (besides the fact that there are thousands now it seems) and reviews in general are so poorly followed these days comparatively by us little people ;)
