half of us thought
we were building it
the rest that we were tearing it down
Not to answer the questions
but to dance with the questions
you said
and the letters glowed bright red
leaping off the page
as people say
impossible to ignore
From where we were standing
we could see about
half a mile away
six or seven people
standing on the train bridge
friends or strangers
we couldn't tell
the point was I wanted
to kiss you in those days
I never stopped wanting
to kiss you even when
we kissed I would feel myself
longing to kiss you
