   not nearly as much as I hate other people
6. Learned anything new recently?
   yep: by the time one has the conscious thought 'I think I'm falling for [X person]', the damage has already been done.
   Also, when one is dating someone, and they suggest taking a shower together, it's not simply a water- and energy-saving proposal. Nor is it a prelude to critique of one's appearance. It's a hint, for crissakes.
   Finally, it's the rare man who's wooed with words, and the rare woman who's wooed with images. And the rare individual who can remember that distinction will be happier, in the end.
7. Do you like dirty movies?
   love 'em.
8. Have you discovered anything recently?
   yeah. Last night, while trying on some ancient jeans (in hopes that they might suddenly fit), I discovered a few things:
   • a pair of jeans that I haven't worn in over a year fit better than ever before
   • I still have a different pair of jeans that I got as a Christmas gift when I was in high school
   • The latter didn't exactly fit, but they definitely weren't a lost cause, so I kept them to try again another day (and no, they're not horribly outdated. My style is timeless!)

   December 2010

    yes
11. How many times a day do you go on Facebook?
    a few. Less, over time.

    El Orphanato. I seriously need to get to the movies! If only I had someone to accompany me....

    uh, no

    it was a notification of a blog comment from someone in the U.K.

    ice, for sure! (Fire is for teenage boys with a fetish for purple eyes.)

    no
19. Would you be upset if Facebook stopped working?
    for a few minutes, and then I'd be thrilled to have a huge chunk of my life back
20. How did you start your blog?
    in January, 2004, I started writing melancholy, vague posts about my life, easing my way toward admitting to myself and others that my life was just starting to change. The blog either facilitated the change—or I was just lucky enough to have started it at a time when it could document everything that my life would become.
