integrity has no need of rules

August 4: cap-a-pie
(not sure what I'd do if I ever heard this in casual conversation but splutter with laughter)
One of these days, I'll go out dressed, cap-a-pie, like the ninja that y'all know I am—unarmed, of course.

  1. Do you understand a belief model based on creationism?
I understand it, intellectually—whether or not I believe it.
It is very important to fully appreciate the full meaning of the word "believe." It does NOT mean exactly the same as "feel" or "know" or "am."
  2. Is your house run more like a dictatorship or a democracy?
call it a grassroots democracy--the plants rule
  3. Are you likely to forgive a transgression and give someone a second chance?
if the transgressor is a friend (among the chosen few), then it is highly likely. Outside that small group, I lean much closer to the Niteowl approach--one strike and you're out.
  4. Is religion a big part of your life?
it's a surprisingly big part of my life, considering that I don't belong to any organized religious group. I have good friends who help me out with this sort of thing.
  5. Do you feel your job (or your spouse's if you work at home) is safe?
safe? In what sense? Like, am I likely to be axe-murdered at my desk? Probably not. Is it highly possible that a chunk of plaster will fall on my head, or a snake will slither out from between the bookshelves when I least expect it? Nah.
And if you mean, is it likely that I'll be fired anytime soon? There's always that chance, for anyone. But one thing's fairly certain: the position itself doesn't seem to be going anywhere. Downsizing would probably leave it untouched, at least at the macro level.
  6. Do you believe in gay marriage? Why?
do I believe it exists? Sure. Should it? No—I think that there should be more, greater, and better protections for people who've had their rights trampled on for far too long. Marriage is a burden in a lot of ways. It screws up insurance options. It definitely blows taxes out of the water. And personal decision-making falls to the wayside in favor of governmental 'protections' that are outmoded and often detrimental to those that they pretend to aid. I'd love to see some legal reform that starts by making it possible for people who've had to hide relationships, or prove their worthiness in ridiculous ways, to have real legal protections and benefits.
    [end rant]
  7. Do you think the current U.S. war will lead to a more peaceful world?
war never "leads to" peace. People are just hurting and killing people.
And the concept of a peaceful world...I just don't see it.
  8. Do you like people with swagger?
nope. 'Swagger' falls squarely into the same category as 'aggressiveness.' Assertiveness is fine. Even 'cockiness' can be all right on occasion. Swagger is just throwing your weight around. Kindly keep your weight to yourself, thanks.
  9. What kind of budget do you live on, is it tight or carefree?
if I had to give a nickname to my budget, it would be "rabbit." Cute, strong for its size, but running scared a lot of the time. And always, always in danger of sudden, deadly disaster.

  1. So. Budget = life in general.

(I actually found myself worriedly watching a 'new' guy at work yesterday who kept wandering around with a sports duffel over his shoulder...first time for that, at work.)

    1. Ugh. I suppose that's a good rationale for my current building layout--literally physically separated from the crazy....
