  I do everything that I can to make those ads on the side of my screen disappear—and they do. No ads, no clicks.

  oh, todayish seems accurate

  I adore the scent of rain, and I'm automatically suspicious of anyone who would answer that in the negative

  my bug-bitten feet
• When you go to McDonald's, what drink do you usually get?
  Coke, I'd imagine, though I literally cannot recall the last time I set foot inside (nor drove up to) a McDonald's. It's been years. Prehaps decades.
• What were you doing today at 2:15 in the afternoon?
  counting plastic widgets. Such is my life.
• What's the nickname of your home state?
  Ole
• What's the worst type of weather in your opinion?
  I don't like high winds, from which I've experienced too much destruction to feel safe, but under general circumstances I would prefer almost anything to the disgustingly hot, unrelentingly sunny and humid weather of high summer. And there is something profoundly annoying about the people who think that triple-digit temperatures are "pleasant."
• Do you have a Kindle, Nook, iPad or none?
  I do.
• Would you rather read or write?
  yes, more than anything
• When was the last time someone took a picture of you?
  I've no idea when, or who it would be. Probably my mom, or my sister-in-law.
• Do you own a pair of slippers?
  yup. One here, and two at my parents' house. Why two, there? God only knows.
• Name something negative that you hate about yourself:
  but I only hate the positive stuff! {whine}
  I can't be arsed with anyone's nonsense, even under circumstances in which a little forbearance could greatly improve my lot in life. And I'm also unable to lose the slightly curvier-than-necessary bits that prevent some of my clothes from fitting just right.
• Is your house currently hot, cold or just right?
  I couldn't say enough about how just right this house is. I LOVE this house, exactly as it is.
• Is there a Dead End road near where you live?
  2.21 miles from here, give or take
• Do you roll your eyes often?
  so much that they ought to never stop. It's a terrible habit.
• Growing up, did you see your cousins often?
  I did, and one that I failed to treasure until it was nearly lost to me
• Where was your first job?
  in the bakery department of a grocery store in my hometown
• When's your birthday?
  that's classified, eh?
• Is life a party to you?
  really, no
• Who are you tired of seeing in the news a lot?
  I very rarely watch the news, since it seems to filter to me eventually anyway. There are parts of my world in which I'm satisfied to be among the last to know.
• When was the last time you flew a kite?
  June 3, the year I was seven
• How long have you had a blog?
  ten years ago in January
• Have you ever had to call and complain about a product you bought?
  not exactly. I'm more of a take-it-back sort of person. Looking someone in the eye is more difficult but also more compelling.
• Name something positive you love about yourself:
  but I only love the negative bits!
  I love the way my brain works. And my muscle-y arms are kind of nice, too.
