Here then is the life-giving activity given to every man: the sexual act, vivificator,
infusing not only with immortality the cells, programmed & hungry,
so that life springs from life, unit from unit, confronting the other
& continuing it, but on the instant leaping life to new vigor, renewed
in the fornicator, mind back down in his limbs, the body a crystal in which it sparkles, flickering, dancing,
tumbling & leaping, or suffused with sweetness,
as on a cool summer day with sunwarmed rock bristles with life, drowsy & light;
this act the secret, fucking or screwing, copulating, the making of love,
work, artisinal
like the making of a fire, plowing or the making of bread, love's
labor, life begetting,
the pure
good.
