the very least you can do in your life is figure out what you hope for. And the most you can do is live inside that hope. Not admire it from a distance but live right in it, under its roof

Are you living out your dream?
   in some ways, sure
Do you like working from your house or prefer to go to coffee shops/co-working spaces?
"real writer"
I have to talk about private information way too often to work in shared spaces
Do you prefer to receive recognition in public or private?
  private
Do you support any charities?
  emotionally, yes
How many books did you read last year?
101, I think. When I worked at the library and had more steady access to new materials, I read a whole lot more. My numbers from when I began tracking:
2013: read 233 toward my goal of 100
2014: 190/125
2015: 168/150
2016: 176/175
2020 reading challenge 101/100
2017: 105/100
2018: 125/125
2019: 115/100
2020: 101/100
2021: 6/90 so far (I read - and review - in cycles, so this is nothing out of the ordinary)
The years before 2013 when I was at the library, I probably read even more than that.

If you could collect anything, what would it be?
  heartfelt compliments
What is your favourite app?
   Shutterfly
What is your favourite baked good?
  my aunt Dawn's brownies
When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?
   damned older siblings...
Who is the greatest cook you know?
I know a professional cook, but would rather eat from the grill of one of my friends than anywhere else

[from here; the title quotation is by Barbara Kingsolver, from Animal Dreams]
