all history is man's efforts to realise ideals

1. Do you have a passion project? What is it?
I want to photograph and write a coffee table book of local bars and churches. I've talked to some people who might want to collaborate on it, and have even started plotting when best to shoot photos.
2. How many languages can you speak?
    just the one
3. What was the last book you read?
I'm still slogging through my semiotics book, which I like but find somewhat draining in large doses
4. Where in the world would you most like to visit?
    Montréal
5. Top 5 fictional characters?
    from books, the following:
    • Everett Chance, from The Brothers K by David James Duncan
Finny Short, from Finny by Justin Kramon
Jonathan Bovaro, from The Girl She Used to Be and The Exceptions by David Cristofano
Ned Moore, from Snowed In by Christina Bartolomeo
Ford, from Does She or Doesn't She? by Alisa Kwitney
6. Something/someone you miss from your childhood?
the home cat, M. She was a good girl.
7. What skill do you wish you had?
there are so many. Math? Cooking? Copy editing? Something interesting and marketable would be fine.
8. Tell us an interesting fact
there is a 42,000-piece jigsaw puzzle available for commercial purchase. It retails for $550. I like long, in-depth projects, but that's just stupid.
10. Favourite planet?
    are there other options?
11. Which historical figure fascinates you and why?
Éamon de Valera, Irish politician from the 1930s. He lived and served through some if the most tumultuous times and events in history. I know a great deal about what he did, and would love to find out who he was.
12. Favourite mythical creature?
    a "good" man
13. Do you believe in any conspiracy theories?
do people who buy into conspiracy theories actually conceive of them that way? Or do they think that they know the truth, and that others just don't understand?
14. What is your favourite word?
    lovely
15. Do you have any obsessions right now?
I've been cutting down my plants, both because they needed it and to try to grow some sprouts. It doesn't rise to the level of obsession, but I'm always on the lookout for a re-grow-able cutting.
16. Do you play any instruments?
drums - on the steering wheel when I'm stopped for trains
17. What’s your worst habit?
staying up too late, reading or internet rabbit-hole-ing
18. Do you have a collection of anything?
    yes
19. What’s your biggest ‘what if’?
what if I'd gone to on to more grad school, rather than law school? I was not locked into either one, so it went down to the wire as to which I would start. My life might look very different if I had a Ph.D.
22. If you could learn one language overnight, which would you choose?
Spanish. Fluency in that language opens up so many employment doors - not to mention travel!
23. What’s the most useless thing you know how to do?
    research stocks
