bits of love conjured up in the electric night

I salute you,
majestic sweat
beneath the moon
Crystalline shimmer
spread forth
along the isle,
giants of structurality
oppose to a pale
jaundice lunar
unrounded orb

I drink to you river
moving ebb
into the lake
of the universe

I follow you orbits
of hard life
beneath which feeling
shatters you
        gracefully
        into sleep

I unhinge you
are lights
of this mortal century

I exalt you
bits of love
conjured up
in the electric night
for the renunciation
of solid death
    for sale

I salute you
    humble sweat

[Joseph Ceravolo {1934-1988} 'Builders (Large Moon Rise)', from Collected Poems]
