Blissful, blessed U.S. Mail!
I look like I'm on crack, smiling like a loopy idiot and compulsively sniffing (and snuffling, and gazing at while just holding, suspended before me, pondering the miles it traveled) an envelope that arrived today.
I hadn't planned to retrieve my mail, but I stopped at home before returning to work after the bimonthly consortial cataloging meeting this morning--allegedly, in order that I could pick up some work--and after I opened my mailbox, all bets were off. I floated upstairs, kicked off my shoes, dropped my coat and bag in the hallway, and carefully opened my treasure.
And then I sank to the couch, where I sat for several moments, considering just what transpired to bring this item to me.
Amazing, isn't it, what a surprising bit of correspondence can do?
