in which there is a *major* rant

You
  • What did your parents name you? "Mouse"
  • When do you celebrate your birthday? The day of, and usually for some time around then.
  • How old are you? 37, give or take
  • How old do you wish you were? 24
  • Do you wish you had a different eye color? Yes - I would love to have pale gray eyes
  • What color hair do you have? At the moment, somewhere around 5 separate colors.
  • Do you have a boyfriend/girlfriend? Neither
  • How long have you been dating? Since I was 13
  • Do you party a lot? No. I drink a lot and I talk about doing other stuff, but I don't party.
  • Do you smoke? Only from my ears when I'm angry
  • Do you want to get married? Who's asking?
Favorites
  • Type of alcohol? Beer, then vodka
  • Shampoo/conditioner? I use Redken "Color Extend." I like Graham Webb "Ice Cap."

  • Fast food restaurant? Taco Bell
  • Animal? Cat
  • Book? The Brothers K
  • Music? Depends.
  • Movie? The Professional
  • Scent? Lemon
  • Place to be? In a quiet park by a river - preferably the river.
  • Food? Bacon sandwiches
  • Actor/Actress? Jean Reno, Julie Christie
  • TV show? NCIS
Random
  • Ever finish a crossword puzzle? Yes
  • Have you ever been addicted to anything? Yes
  • What do you think we should do to pedophiles? [rant] Anyone who commits a crime should be punished according to appropriate statutes and guidelines for that crime, and then they should be permitted to live their life in relative peace. Murderers don't register. Drunk drivers aren't immediately identifiable (except in very limited ways in certain jurisdictions). Drug dealers aren't painted green. If there is evidence that a particular individual is EXTREMELY likely to commit a similar crime, then that evidence should be considered in sentencing for the crime of which that person has been convicted. Recidivism is a concern in EVERY case, not just as regards pedophiles. And to pretend that sexual offenses will be prevented by sticking propeller hats on the [past] offenders who have been identified is a very narrow, deceptively palliating strategy. [/rant]
  • Have you ever done a Sudoku puzzle? No
  • Last person you fought with? I'm sure that Fluffy & I have sniped more recently than I've gotten into it with anyone else. (Especially since "The Stapler Incident" has been resolved.)
  • How often do you clean your room? Every couple of weeks. It really doesn't get all that messy.
  • How many bathrooms do you have in your house? Uh, one.
  • What is something that makes you really angry? 4-way stops
  • Would you ever spank a child? I have. I would. It is very disturbing for everyone involved (or at least it should be!)
  • Ever hurt yourself? If so why? Uh, yeah? 'Cause I'm an adult? Who hasn't??
  • What are on the walls in your room? In my bedroom - a Rothko print and a bunch of photographs.
  • What happens when the jails get overfilled with prisoners? Larger jails will be built. The population isn't getting any smaller, and the rate of incarceration in this country remains pretty steady. Given the general trend toward strengthening laws that punish by incarceration, that rate will probably increase. Ergo: more, bigger jails.
  • What is the longest you have gone without showering? A couple of days, after surgery.
  • Do you shave your legs a lot? Probably more than average.
  • If you could live anywhere, where would it be and why? Miami. I loved it, and it felt like I belonged there from the first moment that I saw it through the airplane window until the last second that I could see it as a little speck in southern Florida on the way back north.
