man is insensible to the relish of prosperity 'til he has tasted adversity

  1. Describe your "good china," whether you actually own any or not.
there was 'good china' in a relationship in which I was involved, once. Multiple sets, even. The least abhorrently ugly was off-white to the point of really being more beige or even tan, rimmed in 24 ct. gold. I was not sad to leave it behind.

My dishes are white porcelain, restaurant-quality, with a set of bright red salad plates because I needed some and liked them. I don't have cups and saucers, and absolutely none of my mugs match (neither each other nor the dishes). It's safe to say that informal rules the day when eating at my place.
  2. When are you happiest?
with a notebook in front of me, a good pen in my hand, hot tea by my side, and nowhere to be
  3. If you could turn into two people right now, what are the first two things you'd want to do?
sleep for the next week or so - while simultaneously giving myself a killer back rub. The stress-muscles in my back, neck and shoulders are throwing fits lately.
  4. Show and Tell. What comes to mind first when you see this picture? Or, tell a story if it reminds you of one.
this picture reminds me of the wind farms that I saw on my trip downstate a few years ago to photograph a building like the one in which I work. It was a lovely day, bright sunny and warm, and would have been all-over terrific except that I was stood up (oh, sigh) for the xth time by my then-"boyfriend", who'd agreed to accompany me on my trip, and also because I was missing what turned out to be the opportunity of a lifetime to meet someone who is extremely important in national politics these days.

But I do kind of dig wind farms, still. They're soothing and pretty.

  1. I remember that day!!!....though I don't remember the political 'hook.' Would this important person be from the great state in which we currently both live, though he is working further east these days?

I know someone (who is easily freak-out-able) who is completely freaked out by windmills.

    1. At the time, I'm sure the political bit was far less relevant to my mental state. How much things do change! Yes, that was the figure of whom I wrote.

I'm notoriously skittish of butterflies, so I'd be the last one to cast aspersions on a windmill phobia.
