and light entered me like a careful lover.
Gradually around me the world settled
its wings and became clear and still.
And I woke in the morning and opened
my eyes and I saw. Colors sang
like a Verdi opera, every
hue a diva, a world class tenor.
I rose in the day clothed in glitter
like a peacock of fire and I saw
each tree shining with its leaves
like pulsating green hearts.
I saw the face of my lover again
his sea colored eyes, his mouth
speaking to me, it was truly him
and his countenance of sun.
Around me the world was busy
with itself like a mother cat
washing her kittens, and the morning
bubbled with inner and outer light.
