Right now I'm feeling...
peaceful, hungry, and interested in the movie I'm watching
When I'm alone I feel...
normal
When I'm surrounded by people I feel...
overwhelmed, stifled, and twitchy to escape
One thing I hate is...
phone shaming. It happens all the time on social media - "well meaning" memes about putting your phone down and paying attention before it's too late. Not a terrible idea in theory, but the method is so wrong. What percentage of people access social media with a phone? How obnoxious is it to intentionally make people feel bad for doing what you know they're doing?!
Phone use can be obsessive. It can be negative, a vice, like anything. But a phone is, in essence, just a tool. That's only a problem if somebody doesn't use it right.
One thing I really like about myself is ...
my brain (most of the time)
When I'm feeling sad I...
have a hard time not crying. It's not the sadness, but feeling helpless and out of control. And I have never mastered either crying on purpose or being able to stop myself from crying.
When I daydream it's usually about...
money.
Or being a kitty.
I'm afraid of...
dogs
I'm happiest when...
the writing goes well
One thing that really worries me is ...
when bad people get ahead
If I could change one thing about myself it would be...
I suppose I could stand to be more traditionally ambitious
If I could be with anyone right now I would be with...
Rupert
The family member I am closest to is...
my dad and mom. (They travel as a pair.)
If I was really honest with my father I would tell him...
"you don't need to try to earn it - it's yours by right."
One thing I regret about my life is ...
not buying the perfect prom dress when I was 17. It was a spectacular fucking dress. (And not a "prom dress" style.)
If I only had one more day to live I would...
love the people I love, somewhat more effusively than usual.
If I was really honest with my mother I would tell her...
we are each a success in our own way. Trust that.
One thing about me that nobody knows is...
if my blood sugar gets too low, I sneeze
I hope that someday in the future...
I hit a jackpot
When I think about my family I feel...
comfortable, happy, and silly
Something I'm really embarrassed about is...
how easily and quickly my face turns red when I'm even a little warm
One thing about me I never want to change is...
my loyalty
One thing I feel really proud of is...
having so many friends from all ages and places that I've lived
[from here; the title quotation is by Harper Lee, from To Kill a Mockingbird]
