How You Are In Love |
You fall in love quickly and easily. And very often. You give completely and unconditionally in relationships. You tend to get very attached when you're with someone. You want to see your love all the time. You love your partner unconditionally and don't try to make them change. You stay in love for a long time, even if you aren't loved back. When you fall, you fall hard. |

On the River, north of the state in which I currently live.
2. WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE ARTICLE OF CLOTHING?
My black silk 40's wrap dress from J.Peterman.
3. THE LAST CD YOU BOUGHT?
Sister Hazel's Chasing Daylight. I haven't received it yet (bought it used on Amazon), but it's coming.
I also just placed a personal order at work for Better Than Ezra's two new ones--Greatest Hits and Before the Robots.
4. WHAT TIME DO YOU WAKE UP IN THE MORNING?
7:00 on weekdays, between 7:00 and 10:30 on weekends.
5. WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE?
Trust. Maybe Garden State. Dead Poets Society. The Rundown. The Brylcreem Boys. Beautiful Girls. The Professional. ...
6. IF YOU COULD PLAY AN INSTRUMENT, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Oboe.
7. WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE COLOR?
Cornflower.
8. WHICH DO YOU PREFER, SPORTS CAR OR SUV?
Sports car. That's an easy one. I want the most expensive, 2-seater Jaguar sports car. Mmmm.
9. DO YOU BELIEVE IN AFTERLIFE?
Yup.
10. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CHILDREN'S BOOK?
Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type by Doreen Cronin
11. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SEASON?
Autumn.
12. IF YOU COULD HAVE ONE SUPER POWER, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Forgiveness.
13. IF YOU HAVE A TATTOO, WHAT IS IT?
I don't have one yet. I will, before this time next year.
14. CAN YOU JUGGLE?
No. I'm virtually inept with my left hand. I ought to tie it behind my back, because it's often more of a hindrance than a help
15. THE ONE PERSON FROM YOUR PAST YOU WISH YOU COULD GO BACK AND TALK TO?
Andrew.
In part because I don't consider Johnnie to be "from my past".
16. WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE DAY?
Saturday.
17. WHAT'S IN THE BACK OF YOUR TRUNK?
A collapsible crate (so my groceries don't fly around when I take "the long way" home from the store). A ridiculously soft baby blue blanket. A sleeping bag. Heh heh heh.
In the cubby below, there's the usual suspects: the spare, cables, a socket set, rags, a quart of oil, etc.
18. SUSHI OR HAMBURGER?
Oh, good lord, what is this, a conspiracy? Hamburger!
(And yes, Nick, I promise that I will try it the next time we're at China House.)
19. FROM THE PEOPLE YOU WILL EMAIL THIS TO, WHO'S MOST LIKELY TO RESPOND FIRST?
No email. No pressure. But I'd love to see Cindy, Peter & Robert do this one.
20. WHO'S LEAST LIKELY TO RESPOND?
Alex Ludd.
21. WHO DID YOU RECEIVE THIS FROM?
Cat.
22. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FLOWER?
Tulip. The darker the better, but usually not red. Purple. Black. Blue. Orange, even.
23. DO YOU BELIEVE IN LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT?
Yes.
Christina Bartolomeo, an author who I think is absolutely genius, wrote the following in her most recent novel, Snowed In: "'Chemistry isn't just a trap always, you know. Sometimes it's there because you've found something good.'" The novel also contains this line: "'If love had anything to do with timing or propriety, this wouldn't be a very interesting world.'"
And I'm not saying that because I'm in an "at first sight" love--I'm not.
24. WHAT WOULD BE YOUR DREAM JOB?
To be a writer, with no job to do other than to allow (or force, or plead...) the words out of the place where they live in my head.
25. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MEAL?
A small (8 oz.? 10 oz.?) steak, juicy but not excessively marbled, swimming in its own juices and topped with garlic butter. A small baked potato rolled in kosher salt. Mozzarella cheese toast. A small side salad, warmed to just less than room temperature, containing the following and nothing else: romaine hearts (torn, not cut), small pieces of real bacon, homemade garlic croutons (not so hard that they make your eyelashes fall off, just crunchy), and the Parmesan Vinaigrette from Al Capone's Hideaway. Angel Food Cake with Seven-Minute Frosting tinted green (see my profile photo for an example). Ben & Jerry's Wild Maine Blueberry ice cream. And a large glass of cold (but not icy) skim milk.
Maybe, maybe not:
Your Inner Child Is Sad |
You're a very sensitive soul. You haven't grown that thick skin that most adults have. Easily hurt, you tend to retreat to your comfort zone. You don't let many people in - unless you've trusted them for a long time. |
